Because of the difficulty getting appointments to get our rescue cats altered in a timely manner, we recently launched our pre-spay/neuter adoption program. The cat you are interested in may be part of this program and will have at least it’s first FVRCP vaccine, a microchip registered to us and will have been treated for internal and external parasites. Please fill out our screening form and after reviewing and confirming your information, our adoption counselor will reach out to you to explain the process.

Introducing Fig! He was the shy runt of his litter, but you wouldn’t know it now. He has filled out and has a handsome black coat, complemented by white tufts of hair from his ears. He will purr and purr when he is held….and then, he’s done. It’s time to explore and time to play.
Fig was born under a portable on a school campus with his litter mates. They have already been adopted and Fig and his sister, Raisin, are still waiting for their homes. Fig and Raisin would buddy-up together in the past and now they are constant companions. Please consider adopting Fig with his sister. Her bio is also online. He will need a kitty playmate and time to acclimate to new surroundings. Raisin would be just the ticket to make him feel at home! It is recommended that he be placed in an experienced cat household. If there are children, older children only. Fig likes to play, but the cat-enthusiastic younger generation would be a bit too much for him.
Fig’s foster home has two dogs. He was very fearful of them when introduced. Both dogs are great with cats, but they kept their distance due to Fig’s reaction. Another introduction will be attempted, but the situation will not be forced. Stay tuned for updates.
Fig is all set to go to his new home. He wasn’t getting enough to eat in his early days, so he’s more than ready to see what’s on the menu at your house!
Thank you for your interest in one of our adoptable kitties. All of our kitties are fully vetted (age-appropriate vaccines, spayed, tested for feline leukemia and feline aids, and they are microchipped.) They live in private foster homes with their foster families. Our adoption fees are $75 - $125.
In order to match the best home for our foster kitties, we ask folks to complete our adoption application in advance; simply go to www.candyscats.org/forms. You will need to register on our site, then fill out an Adoption Application. We'll review your information and get back in touch with you.
Cats are not adopted first-come, first-served, but rather the best home for the kitty, but we do give consideration to the folks who take the time to fill out the application in advance. Almost all of our volunteers work during the week; to be able to meet one of our cats by appointment during non-adoption days (Saturday, 11 - 4, Sunday 12 - 4), your application needs to be filled out in advance and approved by our adoption coordinator prior to scheduling an appointment to meet with the cats.
Thank you once more for your interest in our wonderful cats; we hope we can find one that is the perfect fit for you and your home.
