ADOPTION POLICIES, PROCESS, LOCATIONS AND APPLICATION

Thank you for your interest in adopting one of our wonderful kittens or cats. 

We have invested a lot of our time, energy and resources to offer healthy felines for adoption.  Unpaid foster volunteers provide the food, litter, toys and socialization of each cat.

Please note adoption fees may vary, as they work to cover varying medical expenses for each cat.

We believe that the only solution to the pet overpopulation problem is spaying and neutering.  Therefore, we look for families who share this philosophy and spay and neuter their pets.  In addition, as we have an ongoing relationship with our adopting parties, so we look for families with whom we find it easy to work.

All adopters must complete an application; our adoption application helps match you with your new feline family member. Please answer all questions with complete and honest answers- there is no “right” or “wrong” answer. 

Note you only have to complete one application per househould, even if you are adopting two cats.

If we receive multiple applications for a cat, we will process them at the same time and choose the best fit for the cat, which may not be the first application.

All the information on your application will be confirmed.  Since we permit our cats to go home the same day and rental agents, HOA and veterinarians’ offices are usually closed during adoption times, should any information be inaccurate, we will arrange to peacefully pick up the cat and your adoption donation will be considered a tax-deductible donation from you to Candy’s Cats.

We reserve the right to refuse adoption to anyone for any reason at any time without having to provide a reason.
Please bring your own carrier to take your adopted cat or cats home as we do not put them in cardboard carriers and do not provide carriers at our adoption locations.

Candy's Cats has volunteers available to assist you to adopt one of our fabulous felines at PetSmart during the days and times listed here.  We'd be happy to meet with you at other times upon review of your approved adoption application (click the blue link.)

Directions

Coming from the turnpike area (East Florida, West Florida, South Orlando area)

Take the turnpike north to 429 towards Apopka.  When you get on 429, look for Exit 30 414 Maitland / 451 Apopka exit.  Take that exit to the 451 - Apopka exit.  It will take you to a light at 441 (Orange Blossom Trail).  Turn right onto 441, which is "Main Street".  

Drive past the light at Bradshaw and as you slow down you will see a Family Dollar and a Valvoline on your right side.  We are on the opposite side of the street, in a shopping center behind Jim's Goldsmith & Pawnshop, a music store, Lenelle's Pet Grooming.  

If you drive past the driveway you will be at Robinson Restaurant and will have to turn around to come back.  We are situated behind Jim's Goldsmith just down the little road.  When you peer down the road, you will see our flower boxes on the railings and our little Adoption Cottage is right there.

Parking is on your left when you come in.  (There is a covered parking area but we aren't allowed to park there.) 

We have kitties here by appointment with an approved application.  We'd love to see you.

Disclaimer:  Donations made to CCI.  CCI reserves the right to use donations made to CCI for the best interests of the animals in our care.  If you are donating to support a particular fund raising effort and the funds raised exceed the goal of the particular fund raising effort, the excess funds will be deposited into the general fund for use in helping all animals in the care of CCI as CCI deems appropriate.  Please note that CCI is entirely staffed by Volunteers and no individual receives a salary.  All monies donated go to the vetting, medicine, spay / neuter, food, litter and supplies necessary to care for the animals and administrate CCI as a 501(c)3.  All donations are tax deductible.
