Domestic Long Hair (long coat) : : Female (spayed)
Because of the difficulty getting appointments to get our rescue cats altered in a timely manner, we recently launched our pre-spay/neuter adoption program. The cat you are interested in may be part of this program and will have at least it’s first FVRCP vaccine, a microchip registered to us and will have been treated for internal and external parasites. Please fill out our screening form and after reviewing and confirming your information, our adoption counselor will reach out to you to explain the process.
Meow Meow: “She was on the lamb from the time she was about 5 weeks old. Stranded from her Mom a kind person found her as a kitten and brought her out of the cold to the humane society where I found her scared and sick. Meow is loving and kind but because of her trauma early on is skittish. She prefers to be out at night and sleep during the day but loves to lay on my stomach in bed and be rubbed and loved. She will hang out on my lap or the back of the couch close to my head while I’m watching TV. Meow did have a bad addiction to clawing woodwork and even though I tried every trick I could find could not break her of the habit. So, when she dug up my door jambs in my new home I regrettably had to have her declawed….a decision that was very hard on me. She is a quiet cat, very rarely vocal except at night when she will carry her little stuffed ‘baby’ animal toy that she’s had since she was just a wee kitten to wherever I am. I believe that she re-enacts her plight as a kitten being lost from her Mom with the toy “baby” and has done this ritual every night since she became an adult cat. She will find the baby, put it in her mouth, meow with it in her possession until she finds me and then will release it and come to get loved. She is a very special cat and while some might think because she is skittish she’s not a rare find but believe me…they would be wrong.” More about Mau MauGood with Cats, Good with Adults, Quiet, Does not require a yard, Likes to play with toys, Apartment OK, Timid, Affectionate, Intelligent, Even-tempered Mau Mau's companion, Pasha (adopted) can also be seen on our website.
