Because of the difficulty getting appointments to get our rescue cats altered in a timely manner, we recently launched our pre-spay/neuter adoption program. The cat you are interested in may be part of this program and will have at least it’s first FVRCP vaccine, a microchip registered to us and will have been treated for internal and external parasites. Please fill out our screening form and after reviewing and confirming your information, our adoption counselor will reach out to you to explain the process.
Have you heard of the children’s fictional book character, Pete the Cat? Introducing his real-life cousin, Matt the Cat! Matt isn’t looking for new shoes, groovy buttons, or the perfect pizza party. He is looking for his brand new forever home.
Matt is a big and handsome boy with paws to match! He is friendly, loves head rubs, cat treats, and uses the litter box like a pro. Matt may even be part dog because he enjoys belly rubs and is always happy to see you. The feline in him comes out when you pet him and he makes biscuits. Give him a blanket and he’ll make biscuits with or without a head rub. If Matt feels he’s being ignored, he’ll talk to you to remind you he’s still there. No doubt Matt has been very lonely for a while. Matt the Cat’s story beginning is a mystery. All we know is that at one time he must have had a home. He didn’t have a microchip, so if he was truly lost, we had no way to contact his owners. Matt was resourceful and took up residence underneath a school portable so he would have shelter. A nice teacher fed him, but living under a portable leaves much to be desired. Matt’s story took a turn in a new direction when he was removed from the school so he could have a better life. Matt is estimated to be 2 years of age and with what he’s been through, his friendly personality is here to stay. If you have a quiet lifestyle and are looking for a roommate that fits right in, please consider Matt. He enjoys the security of a safe place to live and having a person to call his very own. Children: This is an unknown because his foster home is adult and pet only. Based on how Matt reacted to the students on campus—he always hid from them—the recommendation is no young children.
We want this to be a great match for you and for Matt the Cat, so giving him a trial run with CCI’s foster-to-adopt program will let you know if he’s meant to become a part of your family tree. Matt the Cat would love to begin the next chapter of his life’s story. Are you ready to turn the page….?
Thank you for your interest in one of our adoptable kitties. All of our kitties are fully vetted (age-appropriate vaccines, spayed, tested for feline leukemia and feline aids, and they are microchipped.) They live in private foster homes with their foster families. Our adoption fees are $75 - $125. In order to match the best home for our foster kitties, we ask folks to complete our adoption application in advance; simply go to www.candyscats.org/forms. You will need to register on our site, then fill out an Adoption Application. We'll review your information and get back in touch with you. Cats are not adopted first-come, first-served, but rather the best home for the kitty, but we do give consideration to the folks who take the time to fill out the application in advance. Almost all of our volunteers work during the week; to be able to meet one of our cats by appointment during non-adoption days (Saturday, 11 - 4, Sunday 12 - 4), your application needs to be filled out in advance and approved by our adoption coordinator prior to scheduling an appointment to meet with the cats. Thank you once more for your interest in our wonderful cats; we hope we can find one that is the perfect fit for you and your home.
