Calico / Tabby / Mixed (short coat) : : Female (spayed) : : Senior : : Medium
Because of the difficulty getting appointments to get our rescue cats altered in a timely manner, we recently launched our pre-spay/neuter adoption program. The cat you are interested in may be part of this program and will have at least it’s first FVRCP vaccine, a microchip registered to us and will have been treated for internal and external parasites. Please fill out our screening form and after reviewing and confirming your information, our adoption counselor will reach out to you to explain the process.
Meet Callie. Callie is a 12 yrs YOUNG beautiful Calico Tabby senior kitty who is available for adoption because unfortunately, her mama, who has had her since she was a wee kitten, had to go into an Alzheimer's facility. She lost her brother not long ago as well. Callie is a darling girl, sweet, calm, gentle and extremely affectionate. You will get lost in her beautiful green eyes as she lovingly looks at you. As soon as she arrived in her foster home she was immediately friendly and calm. All she wants is pets and love. She loves to be brushed as well. Callie is very vocal and let's you know she is coming with her loud meows! Callie is looking to be able to live out the rest of her years in a calm loving environment, preferably with a female. She probably would be ok with another older kitty, who is calm and gentle but would need a slow introduction. She had never been with a dog, however, she is currently in a foster home with a small Chihuahua and so far it is going ok, but she still is fearful an uncomfortable around him. Preferably, it would be optimal if she went to a home as an only pet with someone who is looking for a sweet kitty companion, is home most of the time and available to just give her love and attention and let her sit by your side or in your lap. Thank you for your interest in one of our adoptable kitties. All of our kitties are fully vetted (age-appropriate vaccines, spayed, tested for feline leukemia and feline aids, and they are microchipped.) They live in private foster homes with their foster families. Our adoption fees are $75 - $125. In order to match the best home for our foster kitties, we ask folks to complete our adoption application in advance; simply go to www.candyscats.org/forms. You will need to register on our site, then fill out an Adoption Application. We'll review your information and get back in touch with you. Cats are not adopted first-come, first-served, but rather the best home for the kitty, but we do give consideration to the folks who take the time to fill out the application in advance. Almost all of our volunteers work during the week; to be able to meet one of our cats by appointment during non-adoption days (Saturday, 11 - 4, Sunday 12 - 4), your application needs to be filled out in advance and approved by our adoption coordinator prior to scheduling an appointment to meet with the cats. Thank you once more for your interest in our wonderful cats; we hope we can find one that is the perfect fit for you and your home.
