Because of the difficulty getting appointments to get our rescue cats altered in a timely manner, we recently launched our pre-spay/neuter adoption program. The cat you are interested in may be part of this program and will have at least it’s first FVRCP vaccine, a microchip registered to us and will have been treated for internal and external parasites. Please fill out our screening form and after reviewing and confirming your information, our adoption counselor will reach out to you to explain the process.

Sailor is an i ncredibly sweet Tabby mama who was found with her 5 kittens and rescued by Candy's Cats. It seems as though she may have had a family in the past and is looking for lots of love and attention. Has been protective over the babies so she hasn't been introduced her to the dogs in her foster home at this point, but she is wonderful with children of all sizes and all types of people (have had up to 5 people in her space with the kittens and she's still been very friendly).

Picture it:  Warm Sands. Smooth Seas. Tropical Breeze. Imagine life being just as enjoyable with a cat like Sailor. She's a true sweetheart!    If you want a cat who will greet you, wants to be with you, and thinks you are the best...well, here she is! This precious cat with personality plus is going to do whatever she can to claim her new home, so don't procrastinate on completing an adoption application. Sailor will talk to you or softly rub her head against you to show her appreciation. She's also a purr baby, so she'll communicate with you one way or another.  Although Sailor wants to be with her person, she also likes to be up high and survey things from up high.  It’s important to have a tall cat tree—or two—that she can claim in order to do this. If she can also have a window view to look outside, double bonus! After all, a true sailor needs her own lookout post.

Once Sailor is adopted, her rags to riches story will be complete....
Sailor was a family pet, but she was abandoned when her family moved. How scary for her!!  Thankfully, a neighbor decided to feed her, but sadly, she remained outside without any shelter even though she wanted to be indoors.  After she had a litter of kittens in April, the neighbor reached out for help. Sailor was a terrific mom and four of her five kittens have already been adopted.    Sailor was sad to be separated from her babies and everyone is ready for her to have her happy new beginning.  Sailor will do great as a single adoption and she’s ready to set sail to find her forever home with you!

Thank you for your interest in one of our adoptable kitties. All of our kitties are fully vetted (age-appropriate vaccines, spayed, tested for feline leukemia and feline aids, and they are microchipped.) They live in private foster homes with their foster families. Our adoption fees are $75 - $120.

In order to match the best home for our foster kitties, we ask folks to complete our adoption application in advance; simply go towww.candyscats.org/forms. You will need to register on our site, and then fill out an Adoption Application. We'll review your information and get back in touch with you.

Cats are not adopted first-come, first-served, but rather the best home for the kitty, but we do give consideration to the folks who take the time to fill out the application in advance. Almost all of our volunteers work during the week; to be able to meet one of our cats by appointment during non-adoption days (Saturday, 11 - 4, Sunday 12 - 4), your application needs to be filled out in advance and approved by our adoption coordinator prior to scheduling an appointment to meet with the cats.
