Candy's Cats

Because of the difficulty getting appointments to get our rescue cats altered in a timely manner, we recently launched our pre-spay/neuter adoption program. The cat you are interested in may be part of this program and will have at least it’s first FVRCP vaccine, a microchip registered to us and will have been treated for internal and external parasites. Please fill out our screening form and after reviewing and confirming your information, our adoption counselor will reach out to you to explain the process. 

Nikka...where do we begin to tell her sad story.  Nikka was purchased from a breeder as a kitten (said breeder is no longer in business) because her first daddy was told she would help to keep down the allergies.  Nikka was born deaf.  What that means is she has a very loud meow because she can't hear herself.  Because of other issues, Nikka was declawed on all four paws.

For many years the family kept Nikka but then, when they had a baby, they couldn't keep her because the child had more serious allergies than the parents.

Nikka went to a friend of CCI, but she was afraid of her dogs, so the friend found her forever home.  But, it wasn't a forever home and a couple short years later, she is now back at CCI, really wanting to settle down and have her forever home.

Nikka used to have her own pink stroller and a wagon with her name on it but she no longer has them.  She's very affectionate and really just adores men (loves women, too, but men even more.)  She's okay with gentle children but if they're rough with her, she doesn't like that.

She really, really doesn't like other animals.  Perhaps her deafness has something to do with it but she just wants you to dote on her, brush her, love her and adore her.  She will adore you back.

Nikka is a senior; she just had a dental on August 21, 2013 and had five teeth extracted.  She is updated on her vaccines.

Serious inquiries only.  If you have dogs, please, do not apply. She doesn't like dogs. If you have one other cat, she may be okay.  Please do not ask if you have more than one other cat.  Nikka must be indoors only; white cats exposed to sunlight are susceptible to cancer.  She is deaf and she is all four declawed, so she can never go outside unless it's on her harness (which she no longer has) or in her stroller, where she is strapped in really well.
