Tabby / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) : : Female (spayed) : : Young : : Medium
Because of the difficulty getting appointments to get our rescue cats altered in a timely manner, we recently launched our pre-spay/neuter adoption program. The cat you are interested in may be part of this program and will have at least it’s first FVRCP vaccine, a microchip registered to us and will have been treated for internal and external parasites. Please fill out our screening form and after reviewing and confirming your information, our adoption counselor will reach out to you to explain the process.
UPDATE: Beautiful Lily was adopted in Aug 2018 and through no fault of her own was returned to CCI on 3/1/2019. She is now currently available for adoption and is looking for a new furever family.
Hi! My name is Lily! Here is her story from her foster family.....
Let me tell you a little bit about Lily.....in early April, this sweet little girl showed up at our house. We could tell she was not one of cats from a nearby feral colony. She was affectionate, wanted to be held and cuddled and just followed us around. We searched for her owner to no avail and came to the conclusion that she was abandoned. We took her in and have provided her with a safe, loving place. Unfortunately, Lily is afraid of our dog.
Lily is special, and not just because she is a female orange tabby. Lily is not shy or timid. She is very curious. She greets everyone who comes in. Strangers to her can even pick her up. She loves to be carried and scratched under her chin. She sits on our laps often, especially in the morning when we are on the screened-in porch, which happens to be her favorite place around the house (until the garbage trucks come along). She loves to play with her toys and scratch post. She likes to be where ever you are. If given the opportunity, she will snuggle up with your feet in the bed.
Lily has only been around small children for several brief periods of time. She was curious about them, went up to them, sniffed and then just trotted off.
As to how Lily, would be with other cats, we are not sure. She has had no up close interactions with cats while in our care.
A house without a dog is a must.
Lily deserves a home where she can roam about, play and be her carefree self. We are willing to provide all of Lily’s belongings ( carrier, litter boxes, litter, toys, scratch post, food and water dishes and remaining food)
Thank you for your interest in one of our adoptable kitties. All of our kitties are fully vetted (age-appropriate vaccines, spayed, tested for feline leukemia and feline aids, and they are microchipped.) They live in private foster homes with their foster families. Our adoption fees are $75 - $125. In order to match the best home for our foster kitties, we ask folks to complete our adoption application in advance; simply go to www.candyscats.org/forms. You will need to register on our site, then fill out an Adoption Application. We'll review your information and get back in touch with you. Cats are not adopted first-come, first-served, but rather the best home for the kitty, but we do give consideration to the folks who take the time to fill out the application in advance. Almost all of our volunteers work during the week; to be able to meet one of our cats by appointment during non-adoption days (Saturday, 11 - 4, Sunday 12 - 4), your application needs to be filled out in advance and approved by our adoption coordinator prior to scheduling an appointment to meet with the cats. Thank you once more for your interest in our wonderful cats; we hope we can find one that is the perfect fit for you and your home.
