Because of the difficulty getting appointments to get our rescue cats altered in a timely manner, we recently launched our pre-spay/neuter adoption program. The cat you are interested in may be part of this program and will have at least it’s first FVRCP vaccine, a microchip registered to us and will have been treated for internal and external parasites. Please fill out our screening form and after reviewing and confirming your information, our adoption counselor will reach out to you to explain the process.
It's been a long road for this little girl since she was rescued back in May at just 10 days old. She came to us with a damaged eye and after many meds and vet visits it was determined she had Secondary Glaucoma due to a corneal perforation. She was permanently blind in that eye and it had to be removed. She is all healed now, fully vetted and ready to find her furever family. This girl is all sass and class....V ery sweet & cuddly, yet feisty with boundless energy! She loves to hide and pounce on you or other kitties as they go by. Her "scary grizzly bear" move is special for her human targets. She jumps out like a bear standing up, hops on her back legs then takes off running across the room! Her pouncing at her foster's ankles has them joking that "a big cotton ball just bumped my ankle!" When her foster mom comes home, Darcie comes running to greet her to be picked up for some hugs and kisses, then she wants down to run and play. She's hissy and growly until she trusts you, then she loves you with all she has! Darcie is not recommended for a home with children...she is still sometimes bitey and will need someone to keep her in check and keep up with teaching her good manners. She must go to a home with a companion kitty, preferably a boy, that can keep up with her. Thank you for your interest in one of our adoptable kitties. All of our kitties are fully vetted (age-appropriate vaccines, spayed, tested for feline leukemia and feline aids, and they are microchipped.) They live in private foster homes with their foster families. Our adoption fees are $75 - $120. In order to match the best home for our foster kitties, we ask folks to complete our adoption application in advance; simply go towww.candyscats.org/forms. You will need to register on our site, and then fill out an Adoption Application. We'll review your information and get back in touch with you. Cats are not adopted first-come, first-served, but rather the best home for the kitty, but we do give consideration to the folks who take the time to fill out the application in advance. Almost all of our volunteers work during the week; to be able to meet one of our cats by appointment during non-adoption days (Saturday, 11 - 4, Sunday 12 - 4), your application needs to be filled out in advance and approved by our adoption coordinator prior to scheduling an appointment to meet with the cats.
