Candy's Cats

Because of the difficulty getting appointments to get our rescue cats altered in a timely manner, we recently launched our pre-spay/neuter adoption program. The cat you are interested in may be part of this program and will have at least it’s first FVRCP vaccine, a microchip registered to us and will have been treated for internal and external parasites. Please fill out our screening form and after reviewing and confirming your information, our adoption counselor will reach out to you to explain the process. 

I was found in Hollywood, Florida, abandoned in a parking lot competing with cats much larger than me for scraps of food. I was wet, cold, and alone. My rescuers couldn’t leave me and knew someone who fosters for Candy’s Cats in Orlando. I walked right into my carrier (my rescue wagon as I call it) and didn’t make a peep as I quietly rode up the Turnpike to a much happier place. My foster family loves the way I like to be held like a baby and scratched under my chin. I love to play with a teaser stick and will leap 2 to 3 feet in the air to catch my “prey” while playing! I am quite funny! When I don’t want to be held anymore, I simply let out a small squeak and communicate with my voice before I hop out of your arms. I like to lay around like a jaguar with my long legs hanging as if I were perched on a tree. My silky black fur is gorgeous and I don’t shed much at all. I would make a great companion for someone who has other cats. I’ve lived with smaller kittens and an adult female in my foster home. I was shy around my foster family’s dog, but it looks like I will warm up when given time to bond with a pup.I like children, too! Haven’t you always wanted your very own jaguar? If so, I’m your guy! 

Thank you for your interest in one of our adoptable kitties. All of our kitties are fully vetted (age-appropriate vaccines, spayed, tested for feline leukemia and feline aids, and they are microchipped.) They live in private foster homes with their foster families. Our adoption fees are $75 - $120.

In order to match the best home for our foster kitties, we ask folks to complete our adoption application in advance; simply go towww.candyscats.org/forms. You will need to register on our site, and then fill out an Adoption Application. We'll review your information and get back in touch with you.

Cats are not adopted first-come, first-served, but rather the best home for the kitty, but we do give consideration to the folks who take the time to fill out the application in advance. Almost all of our volunteers work during the week; to be able to meet one of our cats by appointment during non-adoption days (Saturday, 11 - 4, Sunday 12 - 4), your application needs to be filled out in advance and approved by our adoption coordinator prior to scheduling an appointment to meet with the cats.
