The first cat I am adopting is

Foster To Adopt:

Adoption is our goal and sometimes we decide that prior to adoption, it's in the best interest for all to have a trial period, which we call foster to adopt.

Foster to adopt means that you will need to give your foster a little extra TLC and time to adjust than a traditional adoption. The cat will remain available on our website so we can continue to receive inquiries. During this time, you will maintain close communication with the adoption team. We normally do a one to two-week trial period, but sometimes, it takes a bit longer for them to adjust to you, your home, pets, etc. and the trial period may be extended if approved by a CCI representative. At the end of the agreed upon time, the cat/kitten(s) will be formally adopted (payment will be made) or returned to us. If you decide to move forward with adoption, Addendum 1: Adoption Contract shall become applicable.

In special cases, cats and kittens with ongoing medical needs will be sent home on a foster-to-adopt basis until the medical care is completed. I understand that until said medical care is complete, I am a temporary foster parent for the cat(s) listed and a separate Medical Adoption Addendum will be entered into and will be made part of the Adoption Contract and Screening Form, with is a legally binding and enforceable agreement and is governed by the laws of the state of Florida. (See Addendum 2: Medical Adoption Addendum.)

As a Foster-to-Adopt participant, I understand and agree to the following:

I will provide care for the fosters. This care includes, but is not limited to, proper food, water, shelter, socializing, love, exercise and medical treatment.

I agree to keep the fosters indoors as per CCI requirements.

I will not mix my personal pets with my fosters until the fosters have been quarantined for a sufficient time to ensure that there is no transfer of transmissible health issues. I understand that CCI is not responsible for treating any parasites or illnesses passed to my personal pets from the fosters.

I agree to provide all transportation of the fosters in my care unless prior arrangements have been made.

I understand that my participation and/or involvement as a foster-to-adopt participant for Candy’s Cats, Inc. (CCI) carries with it the potential for certain risks associated with being around animals, including but not limited to the risks of being bitten, scratched, jumped upon, knocked over, chased, tripped, infected with a disease, or otherwise or frightened, as well as the risks of damage to personal property.

I acknowledge that I will be working with animals whose temperaments may be unpredictable. I acknowledge and understand that cats can bite, scratch or otherwise cause me harm.

If upon review of the facts provided in the Adoption Screening Form it is deemed the information I have provided is either false or a cause for concern for CCI, CCI will arrange for the peaceful return of the cat(s) and the medical paperwork provided to me upon finalization of the adoption. CCI will use all legal remedies available to them to facilitate this return. If legal fees and costs are incurred, I understand that will be responsible for those fees and costs, and any adoption fee or donation given to CCI will be forfeited.

The Adoption Screening Form is a multi-page document which will be incorporated into and made part of the Adoption Contract ("Contract"). CCI permits cats to go home the same day of the adoption but relies on the truthfulness of the answers provided. CCI will conduct an investigation of the facts relied upon on the information I have provided. Falsification of any information on this application will void the Contract and CCI will arrange for the return of the cat to CCI.

CCI may refuse an adoption for any reason without having to state the reason, or may confiscate the cat(s) at any time, if the information given here is deemed incorrect or if the animal is not being cared for properly. I hereby confirm that the information supplied here is truthful. I am entering my full name.
